Allocating scientific credit

Just a pointer to a very interesting article in Nature about the allocation of scientific credit with respect to the finding of the structure of DNA. The article was published in 2003 but I only just came across it now. Basically, it demonstrates how important priority is and how it can be obscured when some scientist’s delay publication for various reasons. It also suggests that scientific rewards are not immune to style in addition to substance.
